But I can see clients (such as my phone, which I assume doesn't support wide channel width) … Web40MHz in theory is capable of 135 Mbps - 600 Mbps (depending if client support 1, 2, 3, or 4 streams) 80MHz in theory is capable of 433 Mbps - 1733 Mbps (depending if client supports 1, 2, 3, or 4 streams) The +1 and -1 is from 802.11n. It indicates if the extension channel is above or below the control. This extends to 11ac.
